★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went here for dinner on Good Friday. We saw it was a packed house on the outside so thought they must be doing something right.
We were told from the outset there would be a bit of a wait for food, which was understandable as they were very busy. The dishes was very savoury (almost a bit salty), so if you like strong flavours you'll definitely enjoy it here. The spare rib entree was disappointing and the meat was tough on the bone.
Service was lacklustre. Only 1 person (the manager?) was allowed to take orders and we waited 15 minutes before they even acknowledged us. The food took about 45 minutes to arrive, however we did notice other tables around us taking even longer to receive their orders. There were some tables that had arrived before us but we received all our food before they had even gotten their entrees.
Honestly speaking I did not feel very welcome at the restaurant and instead felt like we were just heads at a table to be fed. Overall the food was nice but I wouldn't return here based on the service and ambiance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrived from Auckland haven’t been for 20 years my wife being Thai wanted good Thai Food, so happy we found this place.
Wonderful atmosphere staff greeted and pleased to see us.
The food was just authentic and tasty with very generous portions.
Take the kids a Robot delivers the food to the table contactless, such a great experience.
The menu has great variety and prices med but value for money.
We also had friends with us and all four of us had fabulous food and we had a lovely evening.
Thanks to the staff making our first night in Paihia a great experience

After having a bad experience at the restuarant we had booked this evening we tried to get a table here.
Even though the kitchen was due to close they accommodated us with great service.
The food was delicious and the portions large. It was great value for money.
I highly recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Having a robot serving our food was a whole new experience. Not altogether that fantastic as we still like the personal service of caring staff but I assume it has to do with Covid and social distancing.
The food we ordered was absolutely delicious; fried snapper in a sweet sour sauce, a mixed seafood dish and stir fried beef. Finger licking good. But, half of the dishes were served way before the rest, so one of us had to start eating (or it would get cold) while tho others waited and waited. Quite awkward for all of us.
We enjoyed the scenery, waterfront evening sky and a happy crowd. Seeing the restaurant full plus a line of waiting people outside was very uplifting. So book in advance.
And be aware, on most tables there were takeaway menus. Push them out of the way and get the in-house menus otherwise you might find yourself wondering why your bill is higher than expected.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have ordered take away food to avoid physical contact. We wait for our food for 40 minutes. The food's quality was too bad. Curry was too much sweet , taste like eating jaggery only. And naan omg that was worst as it's visible in pic. Totally burnt. And i couldn't even chew that. It was like a rubber.
I would never recommend this place to anyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst food ever. Last night, we ordered a dozen spicy chicken wings and the Rogan Josh as a takeaway. We were then told its a 45 minute wait..which I was ok with. I then collected the food and drove back to our holiday accommodation. The curry was cold and the wings were very dry and tasteless.. not spicy as ordered. The wings were not freshly made as the dark oil colour was deep in the flesh of the chicken skin and the meat had split from the bone.
Never again will I support this establishment.... NEVER

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a nice view of the beach and water from the restaurant and the staff was very nice - though they kind of had to be. I'm not one to complain about food, but one of the curries we ordered tasted extremely salty. We mentioned this to the server who quickly and without hesitation took it back to make it better. The thing is, when it came back it still tasted really salty. When we paid, we were given a good discount due to the food, and for that reason I might give it another go next time I'm in Paihia. I'm hopeful it was just an off day - but the staff were great about it so that is a big plus. Another big plus - the robot that delivers your food. I've never seen that before!
