★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did not plan to stop at Greystone vineyard, but it was was one of the open places at late Sunday evening. We were delightfully surprised of how cozy and warm the place felt. Furthermore, the wines were outstanding!!! We tasted 9 wines and 5 of them could easily compete with greatest wines of Marlborough region. Though the wine tasting was only 16NZD the actual bottles of wines are quite expensive. The pinot noir, which we liked costed ~70NZD. It is a fantastic place for a wine tasting, and if you own a Tesla - a great place to buy wine ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The wine was great, we came here because we saw their winemaker won winemaker of the year. We were a bit disappointed in our experience here, the cellar door host was not very talkative even though we where asking questions and very inquisitive. Fortunately the sales manager came out and was very friendly and knowledgeable, he definitely made our experience good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very enjoyable, we did the tasting and were graced with 9 different wines. Fergus was our friendly Irishman host who was knowledgeable and pleasant to talk with. Still supports Ireland over the all blacks after living here 7 years which was the only negative I could take away from this winery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Laid back outdoor seating at long tables with more refined seating options indoors. The food was bold and perfectly balanced, showcasing some of Canterbury's finest produce - impeccable! It was well priced, with a wine match for five courses included in the $89pp. We had outstanding service from very attentive and knowledgeable staff. We walked away perfectly full wondering how quickly we could justify returning. With a menu that changes each week it will be hard to stay away in fear of missing out on more incredible food! From talking with the staff it sounded as though bookings for weekends are essential but you might have some luck walking in on a Thursday and Friday. Which ever way you go, I'd highly recommend finding an excuse to get out to Greystone ASAP!

We just enjoyed the long lunch, and the thought and execution of every dish and wine pairing are the best in the business. 100% would recommend to anyone and everyone that appreciates good wine and food. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came out for lunch for my partner's birthday. I thought the setting was lovely and the food was nice, but just found the portions far too small and overall really didn't feel it was worth the price point. Wines were lovely but a very small pour barely a glass and we had to keep asking for more. For $79 I would have expected a full desert and not just a tiny bite of an 'almond cake'. The lamb was really nice but served cold and again just too small. We don't normally eat a lot, it was just that the price didn't reflect what we received. I think $40-50 would have been more suitable for what we received.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Soooo good! It's the first time I've been to Greystone since they renovated and the place is amazing. Currently they are offering a gorgeous set menu, and when that isn't available platters are the go. The food is delicious but the star really is their wines. Of course you can order glasses/bottles while dining but you can also buy wine right from the cellar door! All this plus fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable service nestled amongst the working vineyard in the picturesque rolling hills of Waipara, North Canterbury. Greystone is an absolute must see.
