★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not worthy of even one star . At Grow in very recent times I have been sworn at , belittled , mocked and ridiculed , So will you if you attend a Grow meeting in Auckland. Your safety both emotional and physical can't be guaranteed. I have been called a predator, amongst other things and someone from Grow rang my work anonymously to say so . I was verbally trespassed from Grow by the accountant who had no authority to do so , he is an employee , not a Grower or officially on the management team , - all this without a shred of evidence or fact. There was absolutely no truth behind these accusations. It was designed to destroy and humiliate me until my situation in Grow became intolerable and unattainable. I felt suicidal for the first time in a very long time , felt very depressed since, more so when promised investigations into who called me these offensive names was not actioned. Rather than helping , made me feel far worse. Thanks for nothing. Over 40 new first time people attended Grow St Luke's group from February 2018 to November 2018 . Thirty one of those people reported upon follow up they would not be coming back because they felt unsafe. This was reported to Management / hierarchy but nothing was done. When one person (not myself) was about to lodge an official complaint via the Health and Disability Commissioner, it was requested it be withdrawn, as it would be handled internally . It has been 12 weeks (At time of writing) and nothing has been done other than the person / offender being suspended for a fortnight (called stress leave ) but it does not address the underlying problems. Grow New Zealand lost all District Health board funding as it refused to action accountability reports for the funding , showing any progress that its individual members were achieving . Grow New Zealand is down to less than 50 members who regularly attend a meeting spread throughout 8 groups Nation wide
Please note Carolyn Foley is currently on Grow's National Management Team, and is not currently regularly attending any group . Therefore her review should not be considered impartial and is a form of damage control

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm a volunteer with Grow and have found the programme to be very forward looking and motivating. The community is welcoming and friendly, all making an effort to change and grow which is improving their mental wellbeing and enhancing their lives. I would recommend Grow to anybody experiencing mental distress

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Grow. Grow is open to all and works for anyone who uses the program. It teaches skills that we don't learn at school such as how to practise friendship and leadership. It develops your potential - you begin the journey of growing to maturity and grow in ways you would not have thought possible. This happens not just through learning the programme but also through involvement in what is called the "caring and sharing community". This community provides a safe haven for you to learn, adopt and practise a new way of living. It is safe because of the Grow Commitment which is said at every meeting and because there are processes for when things go wrong. I believe Grow is unique - there is nothing else out there quite like Grow.
