โ โ โ โ โ I have been volunteering at Anxiety New Zealand for almost a year now and it's been such an amazing and fulfilling experience. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the clinic itself has a very homely feel that makes you experience a sense of calm when walking in. It is no surprise that I enjoy volunteering my time here as I actively notice the difference this organisation makes in the lives of people (and not to mention that they have the most lovely cat, Smokey!!).

โ โ โ โ โ I have interned at Anxiety NZ for a month and a half now and wanted to share my experience with this great organisation. The culture at this clinic is very warm and friendly and you can see a true collaborative environment where all members of the staff contribute to the wellbeing of the client.
As a student planning on becoming a future psychologist, I have nothing but fantastic things to say about working here and encourage other psych students to volunteer/intern at Anxiety NZ.

โ โ โ โ โ Half of these reviews are from people work at Anxiety.org. That itself is a red flag. I certainly would NOT recommend them. For an organisation that is supposed to help people, you're not very good at helping people. Find somewhere else to go, if you can.

โ โ โ โ โ I would highly recommend Anxiety New Zealand to anyone. I have been volunteering for Anxiety NZ for over a year and it is a pleasure to work with such friendly, passionate and caring people. The clinic is a lovely place to visit, it is a calming and pleasant environment and everyone is super helpful and approachable.

โ โ โ โ โ Really, really poor communication, which is very unfair when people are mentally ill and need help. Very surprising to have this from an Anxiety organisation.
I contacted them when in an incredibly difficult time in my life. I called first, and the person was quite patronising, with the kind of "good luck getting an appointment, we'll seee what we can do" attitude. I filled out a form for an appointment. I was really needing help, and thought this was the best place to go for help. I was so wrong.
2 weeks later - and no communication as to when I'd be seen by anyone. I contacted them... and was told the wait time was 4 - 5 weeks. Why wouldn't they tell us that in the beginning?! I was in real real need of help, and I would have looked elsewhere. By the time someone finally got in touch I was in a horrendous state. As an organisation dealing with people who are struggling with mental health, they are really failing with some basic communication steps that would help alleviate suffering. Surely it's 101 that people actually need support, and to know what's going on (and when they might get help)- not silence.

โ โ โ โ โ I spent 3 months over lockdown volunteering at AnxietyNZ, and I couldn't say enough good things, all the staff there are so lovely and always willing to help out, teach and share their advice. I learnt many great tools and skills over my time, which I am grateful for as I take them into my new chapter at University. I can't thank the staff enough as they are such a group of hardworking individuals who put all their time and effort into providing the best service and environment for their clients. I look forward to coming and visiting and giving Smokey the cat some cuddles!

โ โ โ โ โ I've been an intern at Anxiety NZ for nearly 5 months now, and it's been a great experience. The staff are great and very welcoming, you'll never find yourself without support.
Would highly recommend volunteering here if you're looking to donate some of your time to a good cause.

โ โ โ โ โ I have been an intern with Anxiety NZ for the last few months, and the professionalism and friendliness of their services has really impressed me. Their staffโs commitment to providing a consistent high-quality service to their clients is wonderful to engage with and be a part of.
The entire team at Anxiety NZ are lovely to work with and learn from. I highly recommend approaching Anxiety NZ for both volunteer work opportunities and their wide-ranging mental health support services.
