We went on a fishing charter with Dave from Smoking reels off this wharf.
It was our family trip which included 3 females' that had no experience, and Dave ensured that we all had a good time and caught fish. It was so much fun and we learned a lot about fishing and the mussel industry.
We have been recommending Dave to all our friends back here in Taupo and to top it off we caught our quota of Snapper and I even landed a decent Trevally!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This wharf was built for the recreational boat owners
Now it is being used by commercial ferries and fishing charter boats who were supposed to use the Coromandel wharf. There is very little parking and this has spoilt it for everyone
The road is narrow and drivers can be impatient .The local community have to.put up with a lot.
