★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointed on arrival, no seats out side we had to stand and have our drinks before seating. The fried bread, Was not traditional, it was black and unusually and made me feel sick. Main meal was average big meal, meat was good vegetables not so good I had half a broccoli served on my plate with hockey put potatoe thing that was just as hard as one. Staff were great and welcoming just need to work on better food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had breakfast here, $25 for a buffet & continental. Good range of standard kiwi breakfast food cooked well. Hygienic and presented nicely. Pancakes, waffles , pastries, bacon and eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes all that stuff. Will go again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Over priced tiny portions $28 crispy chicken burger What you get is a soggy tiny piece of chicken that is one third of the roll It could have been a slider You sit there with the sun in your eyes getting fried better than the chicken 2 meals for the price of a week's groceries I'll never go back again

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stay at the Hotel quite a bit but tonight is a reasonable reason why i dont dine here unless i absolutley cannot be bothered going down the road.
Sit at the bar as a salesmen would working on laptop and order a wine from the bar, finish that and have a empty glass beside me for 40min, while the waiter offers other guests sitting in groups menus, further drinks etc.
Also the menu is past the level of being "just a little over priced"
$37 for 3 pieces of "Ravioli" just cream and silverbeet.
If you are going to charge like a 5 star eatery, you need to step your game up with service and food quality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lunch at stylish Novotel New Plymouth with my best friend was such a pleasure! Excellent choice in matching textures and flavours! Wine matched too. It was Allan Scott Wines #pinotgris . Had to force myself from ordering the second glass! After all it was only lunch.
#myMarketingResearch had made me investigate Governors restaurant. Reinforced by two male companions we worked through the menu. Lovely music from their piano bar. Recommended starter - Japanese inspired prawns with Edamame beans and coconut broth. Best of all - smiles from our friendly waiter.
