★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Popped in to Hawea Store in Kitchen around 7 for takeaways! Had a lovely young lady with dark hair, blue eyes serve us with a gorgeous approachable attitude & a big beautiful smile on her face! She was incredibly helpful and kind. But not too impressed with how the kitchen staff had treated her. They had scolded her for not charging us enough for extra bacon on our burgers. They were very pushy and rude about it. But overall it was 10/10 food & 10/10 service!! Just felt bad for the young lady that she had to put up with that kind of behaviour from the chefs. Definitely would be coming back again though!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The new Hawea Store and Kitchen upstairs restaurant is great! The food was interesting, well thought out, good portion sizes and excellent vegetarian or meat options. The service was really good. Wine and beer lists had good options. The view is really nice and its kept the down to earth Hawea charm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don’t underestimate this place! Looks like a kiwi bakery but this place is a gem! Incredible food, great coffee. Relaxed spot. Food is really well priced. Looks pretty standard in the cabinet but wow everything was incredibly delicious and the staff were very attentive. Totally recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here for lunch, thought it would be a nice drive from wanaka and have lunch here.
Well, the food is overpriced and mediocre selection. Vibes from the blonde lady was nah I don't really want to serve you.
So we settled for a snack... A $5 scoop of chips. And they were overcooked and no tomato sauce anywhere, one would think that would be complimentary.
Would I come here again? No definitely not.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing views of the Southern Alps overlooking Lake Hawea. The store has a good variety of fresh food and takeaways, with a decent cafe. It really has it all! They even have a little bit of fishing tackle for your last minute needs :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The upstairs dining experience was delightful, very comfortable on a cold winter evening and with delicious food. The serving staff were amazing and even asked for the Spotify playlist the music was that good. Highly recommended, certainly a return customer

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The man at the counter didn't appear to know what he was doing, even once he asked for help he still got my order wrong!
I was dished up soggy grated potato which they called hash and over smoked dried up salmon.... It was so bad I never ate it!
Great opportunity in lake hawea for a proper cafe. If you're looking for a new business venture, No choice currently.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Purchased 2 cone icecreams ar $4.50each. Scoops were small and not properly rolled. My top scoop was the scrapings from an old box and by the time we walked out it was dripping down my clothes because it was so soft
and not rolled properly. O
