Health Hub Project NZ - Central

2.6/5 β˜… based on 8 reviews

The Health Hub Project NZ is a break from the traditional approach to community general practice.

You can find us at Shop 25 in the Downtown Mall, 491-499 Main Street, Palmerston North.

It will develop and use both new and re-designed healthcare processes and systems - multidisciplinary care teams, professional collaboration internally and externally, and a culture of practice, overall, which is proactive and inclusive, respectful and supportive.

In the words of North American Health reformers, Porter and Lee (2013), the Health Hub Project will implement into practice a strategic new value agenda for healthcare practice:

  • The focus is on population health, and health education, on-site and in the community;

  • The value strategy is quality health care with measurable outcomes for patients, which the patients and the country can afford; and

  • The approach is to employ a high-value outcomes-oriented health delivery system, and integrated health organisation design.

I don’t understand why you have to share with the receptionist your reason for an appointment. Told her I’m having back issues and only then did she say I can’t get in for 3-4 weeks. Is this how you prioritise appointments?

Awful service. I turned up 3 minutes late for a 15 minute appointment, having got someone to cover me for work, and they said that they had moved on to their next appointment which was scheduled for 12 minutes after that. When I asked if the doctor could see me after that person, they simply said β€œno, we will have to reschedule you”. I would avoid this practice.

We recently moved from Auckland and enrolled to this clinic. The hosts are friendly and accommodating, the enrolment was smooth. My kids needed script so we ask for an appt, apparently because of COVID19; they offer phone consults which I find effective for those people who does not feel safe going outside their homes. Anyways, we got ourselves an appt and I must commend that their healthcare team is very professional and knowledgeable.

Shouldn't take on new clients, no way! 3x rang for scripts. Dr drew it up but didn't send it. Next it was sent to pharmacy then declined for lack of docs signiture and told lady had sorted it and go to pick up but ohhh no script there! Some lovely doctors here but hearing from other clients how it's so difficult to be seen. Pulling my hair out ?

This practice originally set out to be a people first practice that cared about it's paitents not the dollar. However it has turned into nothing than a clone of the palms. Money first policy, how many people can they get through in one day leading to misdiagnosis, poor treatment and doctors who don't listen and don't care! As long as they can get you through in under five minutes and get the next person in. I have had bad experiences with not only the doctors but with the counter staff and admin team! I have had a email from the head admin lady telling me I was lying about my illness - I still have this email exchange. Had a counter staff person not be able to understand English very well, the point where she has caused multiple issues and missinformation. A doctor who is so blatantly uninterested in his paitents that he ignored all of my symptoms and told me it was nothing - have now had a serious dignoses that would have been much better if he had done his job in the first place. Another incident with this same doctor who just today, refused to listen to my friend or read the second page of information on her injury this resulted in him re-fracturing her toe! Refusing to supply basic medical supplies such as a bandange (which was on to support her broken toe that he ignored!). My friend left this appointment to be told she could not leave the premises w/o payment when this appointment was a follow up they set because her original appointment was booked with a nurse that couldn't help her! A mistake on their side! So she was charged again for their mistakes!!! I have twice now asked them to lodge a formal complaint and been told to lodge the online form with them, have done this and never had a reply and nothing been done to rectify the situation. I am now also loding a complaint higher up with multiple statements and evidence to support these above facts. Tried to call today to obtain the doctors name, however your phone lines where closed at 5.20 when you don't close till 5.30. I would suggest any other practice!

My dad had transferred down there from Auckland last year Im told. I know he had filled a script end of November, My father passed in December , his death yet to be determined. I hope like hell his Doctor has been efficient in palmy and given him medications along with conducting his own examinations etc! Because if his medication is cause i will not be silent or silenced that's for sure!

I honestly would give a lower score if I could. It is ridiculous that children can't get appointments for weeks. My 8th month old couldn't be seen and you have better luck going to emergency. They don't listen and I am generally unimpressed by the services. If I could I would transfer my family and would not recommend to anyone as I haven't been able to get appointments for my family since last year, it is always booked up for weeks. I don't understand why children have to suffer the long waits at the emergency departments.

Always had a great experience, friendly kind staff and professional nurses who have been great with giving my baby her injections and checking her health. They have been great with my own consultations also. Yes they are busy but so is every other medical practice in NZ. This is a nationwide issue due to staff shortages and funding. Give the hardworking doctors and nurses in NZ a break!
