★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Did not eat as the owner said they had cancelled the booking by asking bookme. Apparently they were only 2 people cooking being the reason.
I saw the email from bookme and they asked him (owner) to let us know in advance which he didn't.
He then texted saying I will give 30% off, please come.
Clearly, being short staffed was an excuse. We 3 were the only customers there. If they can't even serve 3 customers, I am not sure how they can run the business.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice cafe with pleasant ambience and an eclectic "book shop" theme. The staff person was exceptionally lovely and friendly. Our mushrooms weren't cooked quite enough but our meals were tasty in general. The coffee was excellent! Tom, the neighbour's black cat, is a permanent daytime sofa-surfer!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today was the third time we’ve visited the cafe since we’ve moved down to the beautiful Mt Maunganui area. I don’t care what you might read about the wait times. These days everyone is understaffed and overworked. The staff here make up for any wait by delicious food, amazing service and consistent kindness. Thank you for going the extra mile with our squirmy anklebiter.
Today there was a wait, but that’s because they were slammed full on with table after table.
The fact that they met this work load with just 3 people on while doling out excellent customer service, keeping their tables updated on wait times and serving up hot delicious meals is worth far more than just 5 stars. Highly recommend and we’ll be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have now been 2 times for breakfast. Both times the food has been great and fairly priced and the smoothies great. But the highlight has been the staff, super friendly and up beat. Would definitely recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went for brunch today and the food was nice but what we were really impressed with was the customer service. Probably most lovely customer service I’ve had in a really long time at a cafe. Super super friendly, were happy to make changes to drinks and meals, and even came out to double check how I wanted my iced coffee which was very thoughtful (and appreciated!!). Definitely recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great food and the passion the owners have for the business is infectious. The book themed vibe is lovely and the food is awesome. I especially loved the waffles and the bacon and mushrooms were cooked to perfection with the big breakfast. I’ll definitely be back.

When it arrived was below average, chicken was dry as it had been fried for some reason.
Disgusting tomato sauce bottles with labels peeled off.
Friends had to ask for a refund due to the wait times and everyone else had finished eating.
