β β β β β My worst accommodation experience. I wasnt expecting a 7 star hotel but definitely not this. If you have to stay at Fox Glacier try to find somewhere else. High Peaks? More like low troughs, its a swamp. The place is time capsule half a century in the past. Really poor customer service also.

β β β β β Surprised by mixed reviews. Makes me think we got lucky since we stayed there one night last Friday and it was fine. We didn't need much more than a good sleep and hot shower though. Wanna see a really bad hotel... Albatross Inn, Dunedin. I nearly cried there, as surrounding accommodations were fully booked.

β β β β β The Twin Peaks hotel in Fox glacier was outstanding. The rooms were so big and comfortable. the bathrooms were big and great too. Everything was great. The location was good to, 2 km from all the restaurants and cafes. Lots of parking.
only problem I had was with the payment I asked the hotel not to charge my card despite it being mentioned that no pre payment was required, this was because we were 5 individuals booked together, hence we were all going to pay individually. However despite assuring me that they would reverse the charge on my card, they didnt and at checkout time 830am there wasnt anyone at the hotel so we just had to leave the keys in a box at the reception.
But payment issues aside, the hotel was great and would stay here agin in a heartbeat and recommend this place to anyone.

β β β β β Pretty average accommodation. Clean apart from the rather large cobwebs in the windows (inside). Not much in the way of facilities. Glasses, cup & saucer with teaspoon. No knives, forks, cereal spoon, plates or bowls. So we had to eat our dinner with our fingers off of the saucers. Lucky we had bought a paring knife and breadboard from the hardware shop in the previous town. Loose gravel parking area outside of room which was quite noisy when other guest drove or walked in. No bedside tables to put things on. Bed comfortable. If you are looking for somewhere just shower and sleep, then this is the place. We expected just a little more for the price.

β β β β β Booked in for 2 nights - $1000.... absolutely ridiculous. Arrived and was grossly disappointed, incredibly misled. Bar/restaurant was not open and judging from other reviews I donβt think it was ever open. We were charged 1000 for rooms in the oldest section of the whole hotel - absolutely filthy with dead bugs everywhere!!! Toilets were stained etc. the front staff were friendly though and assisted promptly in getting a refund, we were able to stay in the big10 in our RV just down the road for 1/20th of the price with better comfort and facilities. Probably not a bad place but we got the s**t end of it and it was far too expensive!

β β β β β Decided to stay here as we were just passing through Fox and needed a place to sleep/shower. If that's all you're looking for then this place is for you...but there were some negatives.... In the way of kitchen, the fridge on the wall was really loud, so not ideal when you're trying to sleep. There were no plates or cutlery, the tea cup saucers were dirty, had been used and not replaced. Walls were obviously not insulated well as we could hear snoring from next door. Also bed looked to be a California King but it's actually two singles pushed together so wasn't the comfiest.
On the positive, we would stay here again as it had all we needed for a stay over. Bathroom was nice and tidy, good water pressure. Friendly staff too and it's situated in a quiet, safe area.

β β β β β No facility, not a hotel but more like a motel, no staffs stationed in the front office, whole property is like a deserted

β β β β β Booked a family of 4 in to a room with one queen/king bed and one single bed. With two children aged 9&11 thatβs not good enough. No couch or anything. We didnβt bother to stay, booked somewhere else down the road. Kept telling me it was clear in the listing, it shouldnβt be listed as suitable for a family of 4 in the first place as it completely unsuitable. Would have saved ourselves the extra hour of travel, no offer of refund or solution, highly disappointed.
