★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommended day tour. I should say this is the one must go when you visit NZ or you are a big fans of Lord Of Ring.
This is in the private land, so that they only allow the people who are buying the ticket to get in. We attended the Hobbiton movie set tour about 2.5 hours. They provided all the details of description with tour guide and a cup of drink at the end. DON’t MISS OUT! YOU WILL REGRET IT.

The guide explains the art and production of this masterpiece creation with such passion and detail, that you cannot learn anywhere. It was amazing to see how well they take care of the place, showing consideration towards us, the fans. Our guide Luke was so amazing!! I had the best experience. Beyond expectations! It was a day to remember

It takes about 1.5 hours and you'll learn fun facts about the movie and the filming. The tour ends in the village bar where you can enjoy a fresh crafted ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit place as a holiday trip, great view, spectacular scenery and top notch services. Only downside is the cafe/restaurant inside the scene closes too early, got the last sachet of Milo and last bit of the hot water for my child. But love the muffin and cookie with the beloved ginger-beers! We'll definitely visit again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best experience from start to finish. Our tour guide Sonny, was amazing! Friendly and very funny. The trip definitely exceeded my expectations. The scenery is breath taking!! I would definitely go back again! We also had lunch in the marquee at the end, could not get enough of the food

Our tour guide Anna was great. Perfect level of information whilst still letting us have free reign to wander a bit.
The actual Hobbiton village is so beautiful. Such amazing attention to detail throughout. The gardens were absolutely outstanding. It's also so much bigger than we thought!
Going whilst NZ is still quiet was so great. We had the whole village to ourselves, so it was quiet and let us get photos without other people in it.
Will definitely go back one day!

The tour is guided and each time slot gets on a bus and is driven to the set. Tour guide was friendly, funny, and enthusiastic. Answered all and every question we had. There aren't any actors or anything like that on the set/tour. You walk around the whole set.
You are taken around different hobbit holes and told fun facts about the actors and the set. The set is so detailed with fun props and real veggie gardens. The detail was amazing. It is so green out there! There is also a beautiful large lake.
At the pub/bar you can choose between ginger beer or a couple of different alcoholic drinks.
Adult prices were 89 $ in April 2022. Masks not required while out doors on the set but were required indoors and on the bus.
Tour lasted maybe 45 mins - an hour.
