★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is very nice place to stay in the center of Auckland. It's in short walking distance to Queenstreet and K-road. Everything is very clean and tidy here and it has a modern look. The lodge is very spacious with a big kitchen and many toilets. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hostel. About 25 min walk to the center. It's very new and has more of a hotel atmosphere, so if you are looking for other backpackers, it might mot be the right place. Otherwise, everything is in very good condition, the facilities are clean, and the dorms are the best I have ever slept in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No fuss place with almost everything but space. Fully furnished kitchen and dining. Clean rooms and bathrooms and we'll behaved roommates in my case. Can recommend to any bachelor or couple. Rooms may be smaller but fine for living and enjoying the outdoors of new Zealand

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just as the picture, it’s very clean and comfortable. Bit stuffy in dormitory especially in summer. Would recommend you bring a small chargeable fan...I am regretting why I left mine back home. Very friendly people and the communal areas are very clean. Highly recommend for those travelling alone looking to put up at a place that is clean and comfortable. The location is really great as it is in the city centre. Thumbs up for the staff and crew for maintaining the lodge so well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hobson Lodge is a great organized backpacker. The lockers are good, the curtains give us privacy on shared dorms and the little bed light is a plus!
The only downside, there isn't much ventilation going on in the building, so it gets excessively hot. The fans don't reach all the bunks in the bedroom and I have to grab an ice pack to hold on to so I could sleep. Maybe some air-con or bigger fans (ceiling ones maybe?) will solve the issue.
Apart from that, great staff, good location, and awesome facilities!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean and comfortable hostel in a great location close to city centre but not right in the busyness. Felt like my things were safe, bring your own lock for the metal box under the bed. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are clean. Beds are comfy and feel private because of how they are arranged. Quite place and not super busy. Good price as well. I would definitely stay here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Honestly, a truly wonderful hostel. Exceptionally clean, comfortable, quiet and secure. Everyone has access to a locker and a small cupboard in the dorm rooms. You never have to wait to use a shower, stove, microwave, or computer. Everything is very chill and the place has great vibes!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a horrible 2 night’s stay there. We reserved a private room to get some rest before our flight. The bed was not comfortable. We chose this hostel because we stayed 7 months ago. It was fine then. However, now, first of all, the guests’ profile has changed a lot. Lots of disrespectful, strange people without the knowledge of using toilets/showers properly. Besides, we had almost no sleep at each night. Because someone staying in our floor kept singing loudly in the middle of night and watching something very loudly again until 4 am last night and 2 am the night before. I give 2 stars just because of the housekeeping lady. You can reserve a parking spot all day for NZD12.
