β β β β β Rude owners, gave out to us for arriving at lunch time. Bed bug bites all over us the next day and they said it must be from somewhere else. Sheets had stains on them. Location good but that was it unfortunately.

β β β β β Our car broke down in the middle of nowhere on the way to the backpackers. We hoped we could get a refund or at the least reschedule, instead we were told we could not have either with a odd, aggresive voice through the phone shortly after they hung up the phone. I do not recomend this place, such a shame.

β β β β β Although the house is beautiful and very comfortable, the manager has a passive agressive attitude.
He talked to us in a ver unappropiate way. I will definetely not come back to this place ever again. Don't recommend it at all.

β β β β β Easy-going owner and the size makes this hostel very cozy and a home away from home. On top of that there is a massage chair ready to relieve all the tension in your body

β β β β β I didnβt feel welcome in this hostel, the manager has bad manners. There were stipulated times for everything and they charge a deposit for the bbq, feels like they donβt want you to use the facilities. The house is beautiful but doesnβt compensate for the bad service.

β β β β β A cosy, comfortable retreat set in a beautiful wooden alpine chalet-style building. In the winter months you will be welcomed by a roaring fireplace, and for an added bonus there is a massage chair for guests to relax in. The hosts (Tristan and Yoko) are very hospitable and easy-going people and the hostel is a generally nice place to meet fellow travellers. I've stayed here a couple of times, would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this place. Hold in there Tristan and Yoko (and the rest of the NZ tourism industry), as COVID heads on out, international travel will pick up in the coming months!
