Beautiful place to stay and relax over the Hokianga. Brilliant hosts on Peter and Laurel who attending to all are needs. Great to hear from Peter about the history of the area. Just loved and will be back for more

Wow..... The accommodation takes u back to 60s but in a good way. The rooms (4) are all period correct with modern tiles bathrooms attached to every room. Loung with kitchen is relaxing space with the deck on the water itself. You can rent a room or the full house, we did the later and had friends from Auckland join us for the nights. Fishing possible but only caught baby snappers and sharks aka dogfish. There are 2 brand new wharfs, perfect for fishing and jumping on and off!

Had a great time at the Horeke Hotel stay. A family biking trip away where we did the Twin Coast Cycle trail. We stayed in the house hanging over the Hokianga. It has four large bedrooms all with their own ensuites, a very roomy open plan kitchen and lounge and great outdoor balcony where you can enjoy the end off the day watching the glorious sunset. Bonus is the spa which is great to sooth the muscles after a days riding. You then head to the Hotel for a delicious meal. But before eating make sure you have a drink in the bar. Lots of fun. This is a private Hotel so only guests can use bar and restaurant. This made for great nights of fun and meeting new people. I can highly recommend this venue for a group stay when doing the cycling trail. There are bikes for hire and Pete and Laurel will transport you to the start of the trail.

Had nice stay, Michael and his staff very friendly and helpful. The place does need updating, but I understand cashflow might not be great in times of Covid. The food was nice. Really enjoyed the twin coast cycle ride definitely will do again.

Thanks to Peter and Laurel we had the most amazing time catching up with family Eating hearty home cooked food to a high standard. The best sticky date pudding I've ever eaten . The scenary and standard of the rooms are like something out of a magazine. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay will definitely be back
