I'm very tankful for the wonderful KIWI FAMILY that they provide to me and SUPPORT which made me feel at home. β β β β β nice staff, but my homestay family is my life-long nightmare. Tap water is the only drink I got, ten minutes shower limitation, no more than once a week laundry time(if they will do their laundry then you have to wait for the next day, to let washing machine have a rest), no out activity at all, they also enter my room when I am not at home. They even made fun of my race. I left one week before my expire time. Seriously, if you want to experience a peaceful and happy life, think it over.Especially you are allocated somewhere near Milford.

β β β β β They provided me a wonderful host family. My host family was very nice and generous. They showed me lots of beautiful landscape in Auckland. The food was tasty and everything was perfect.

β β β β β It has been a great experience living in new Zealand, the family that i have been living with is one of the best and i thank the nz host families for setting me up them.The rules and guidelines were well explained and transparent. I highly recommend nz host families to any one who is a student looking for accommodation.

β β β β β Good service for international students. Sometimes depending on luck. In my first place the house owner -who is 80+ years old- was a very moody person who turned to be very hostile in last days and I couldn't stay with him any more. Host Families agency changed my place to a better one, although, I had to wait for two more weeks before I could move which was unbearable experience. One of his surprising issues with me that I used to study at his house most of week days while he expected me to be at campus which is 40 minutes away by bus, despite the fact that I showed him my time table and that my postgraduate courses involve more research activities than attending lectures. He claimed that he needs some privacy and wants to feel with his home! Come on! Why should he offer his place for students if he thinks so!! As if I was staying for free! And moreover, my housemate and I had to hear some insulting and rude talks from him such as we should compliment his food, we should be grateful that we were staying at his "beautiful house", and some other nonsense. At the end, both of us left his house to more decent families.
In the first place I paid a lot for a tiny room, whereas the second room was much better and bigger. I think the price should be justified according to the room size. I also think it would be better to provide more information about hosting person or family, to have better understanding of the new place and mind any cultural or social differences. This what I eventually discovered at my first place of residence which is registered in a gay stay website.

During this time Giovana and her staff were always pleasant, helpful and very efficient in their service to us.Whatever the issue they were always there without complaint. Nothing was too much trouble or bother for them.
Gave Me a feeling of security and peace having Giovana and her staff of Host Family NZ as our Agent.
