It's cheap so don't expect much, you got what you've paid for. The room is pretty clean for it's price. I've stayed for 2 nights and nothing was missing from my room as I had a single room with shared bathroom. But maybe they need to make a door key in between bedroom and shared bathroom. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

The first room we stayed in for 2 nights we weren't very impressed, we booked it thinking it was one advertised. The next room we stayed in for another 2 nights we were happy with. But the saving grace was a very nice receptionist, very helpful and most apologetic. I would recommend the place but please make sure you are booking the room advertised otherwise you will be in for a shock and very disappointed ?

good location but that was about it, arrived on late ferry (had advised I would be late), sent up to room there WAS SOMEONE ALREADY IN IT. had to go back down to get another room. room was tiny (even though advertisement was "bigger than the norm" the ensuite shower head was broken (had to rig it to have a shower) the only thing going for it was it was clean! pay the extra $10 to $20 and get something decent

Easy access and welcoming staff great service and Clean Rooms I stayed 4 nights in a single room with shared bathroom such a low price. This place is near to everything Harbor(Ferry), Sky Stadium, Train Station, Bus Stops, Shopping centers, restaurants. Can reach anywhere in Wellington and come back without any problem. Street Parking is available at night or you can get paid Parking just a block away where you will get discount as a guest in Waterloo Hotel.

Turned up and they had cancelled the booking but not alerted booking.com! Managed to find some rooms but one of the double rooms was very run down, did not reflect the pictures at all. Bathroom fine but needs an upgrade and the door locked too easily after had been used. Extremely noisy. Gave a key for another room after mistakenly hearing room request without even checking name of booking.

The Hotel is perfectly located close to the centre of the city, ferry terminal and train station, and... it's cheap. Opted for the double bed and private toilet. The hotel is getting tired and very worn, the key to the door needed encouraging, however it's cleaned as best it can, but there is that old lingering smell of a uni hall of residence ?. Staff are polite, and in the end you get what you pay for, as it's incredibly cheap.

Nice enough rooms for what you pay (stayed in a girls 6-bed dorm in Autumn). Bedding and sheets all felt clean enough. The bathroom was great and very clean, didn't feel too old. At this location, you can expect loud noises outside (cars, people) at night, but it really isn't too noticeable. No heater but it felt super insulated and I never felt any cold air. Huge plus is the immense kitchen space (at least 80 sq ft) with 3x different stoves, 1 working oven (other was broken), 1 working microwave and a tonne of pantry and fridge space (2x fridges, plus one big industrial chiller). Shared Lounge was huge, with about 8 couches, heaps of chairs, tables and plenty of room for people to chill in their own area. There's another theatre-like room with heaps of couches facing a big TV, which was a comfy area to watch tv. Mixed review towards the people there (you'll always get some good and some odd people in cheap hostels). Some staff were welcoming, others weren't, so just expect that and don't be shocked if you wait at the front desk for long.

Good basic accommodation in the city. We opted for private room with shared bathroom. The place is a little run down but the price per night reflects that. Front staff were really nice, even let us check in a little early. Beds were comfy enough. Could have been a little cleaner, window latches in our bedroom and bathroom were stiff/broken.
