β β β β β While the staff were friendly and helpful, you can't get past the fact that the room is skungy. Dishes and cutlery needed to be washed before use, the heat pump had water running down the wall and was held together with masking tape, the roller blinds had mould on them, the shower stall leaked water into the main room, and there was no second door security.

β β β β β Extremely poor service. Unable to travel to Wellington due to COVID issues and tried to call to discuss options of potentially postponing my booking to a later date. Called during normal hours but no answer - 6 phone calls over 2 days. Went on to email and no response. Other hotels are happy to provide cancellations on compassionate grounds (especially during COVID), even with non-refundable bookings, but this place is not even prepared to listen and discuss things. They will not offer credit for a future booking. The least they could do as an establishment is to pick up their phone. I will be needing to travel to Wellington multiple times over the course of the year and I will not be booking with this place. I would not bother booking with this place until they learn how to deal with their customers first.

β β β β β Great place to stay in Wellington. Contactless check in ams check out was so easy. The room was very tidy and comfortable and we had a view of the Harbour. Although I don't currently have a dog, I love that they are pet friendly. I will definitely stay here again.

β β β β β Really looked forward to this but it was disappointing. We had late check out at noon but were rudely woken up at 10:30 by someone repeatedly knocking on our door and telling us we need to check out. My husband told them we have late checkout at 12 (which is in my confirmation email) and they yelled back that we needed to check out at 11. Even if that were true, it was 10:30 when that happened. That was the worst of it, to be honest - and Iβve let the hotel know via email (this was a contactless stay so everything was done via email) but have had no response to date.
Generally, there were also a few miscommunications throughout our stay. The check in process was that I email them my ID and they emailed back directions to check in. I emailed my ID about an hour before we arrived but had no confirmation mail. So I called at the door. They confirmed they had my ID and told me over the phone to look for the email. So, after 10 min of no email I called back and they finally just talked me through check in over the phone. About an hour later they called me and sent an email asking for my ID.
Good thing I didnβt wait for that check in email because it arrived a half hour later.
We were hoping for a stress free stay in this hotel for our anniversary, and even the room itself was not as nice as weβd hoped with old fixtures and an airport hotel vibe.
It wasnβt worth the price, sadly.
I donβt normally complain about accommodations, but there were too many issues to ignore- and being rudely woken up and told to check out this morning when we paid for late check out at noon was very disappointing.

β β β β β AVOID!! This place is really tired and dated and very expensive! It was promoted as having a gym, which it does, but they don't give you an access card to use it, and of course the whole hotel is unmanned after hours. It's really noisy when it's windy and the shower is terrible, with very little water pressure, and temperature that is either scalding hot or freezing cold.

β β β β β U Residence from beginning to end was a difficult process for me and my family when we stayed. They have a βZero contact policyβ because of Covid (apart from China and NZ the rest of the world has moved on). So there was absolutely no service nor did I meet an employee. Everything is through email and phone calls. Single Bed bowed in the middle and I didnβt sleep a wink. Barely any milk in the fridge compared to other hotels. I was glad to see a washer/dryer combo machine, until we realised the machine was faulty. It washes your clothes, but kept spraying hot water on the clothes during the drying stage. I had to go to a laundromat in the middle of the night to dry our clothes. They have no secure car parking and made me spend another 35$ on an un-secure open parking lot across the road that anyone could walk into.
All of this for $320 a night and itβs a 4 star hotel?
Only positive was the room was modern, but even that had faults.

β β β β β The location was so close to the waterfront and Courtney Place. The room was clean, fresh and spacious. The cost was very good for what the rooms provided. The staff were so friendly and warm. The service was amazing. Can't complain and would definitely stay here again if we are in Wellington. Top notch!
