SHAMROCK HOTEL

Shamrock Tavern is one of the New Zealand’s treasured heritage places. The long & eventful history of this architectural genius is fascinating with aesthetic values. The building is a rare example of Early Eighties and is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Wellington. Although the building has been adapted for its ongoing use as a hotel, the building retains much of its original form & glory. Shamrock Tavern played a significant role in the social history of Wellington and continues in its use as a licensed hotel cum bar.
In 2001 the Wellington’s iconic establishment The Shamrock, became home for Indus Indian Restaurant. We are located in Thorndon one of Wellington’s earliest suburbs with numerous 19th century architecture and adjacent to the Government precinct.

Marinated meat, chicken, fish, paneer, rotis and naans of many varieties are cooked in this tandoor oven and the results are absolutely amazing. Foods like chicken Ponsonby, Paneer bhujji, Seekh Kebab, Prawn Curry, Kadai chicken deserves sheer mentioning.
