Indian Cuisine is a combination of subtle tastes. Fragrant and exotic spices from India blended to create the dishes we present to you. These dishes are of South Gujrat and Northern Indian origin and are prepared in our restaurant exactly as in our own home. Each dish will have its own distinctive flavour and aroma which cannot come from any curry powder, but from spices and herbs specially prepared by ourselves. Indian foods properly prepared, take time, so please bear with us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I dont have the right words to describe how amazing the food is.The flavours are so blended with the right spice level.To be honest i am a very very pucky eater and trust me if i say the flavours are truly authentic Indian food .I have tried almost all Indian resturants in wellington but Great India just got me glued to its flavours.if you are looking for authentic Indian flovours Great India Resturant should be your first choice. Love your food love your services guys super thank you for your amazing services.???

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is some of the best Indian food I have eaten. The flavours of almost every dish we tried were complex and layered, and the serving sizes are excellent for the price. The pakoras are the best I've had outside of an actual Indian kitchen, and the Dal soup was incredible.
The service is also fantastic, with a really nice mix of friendly and formal. A wonderful dining experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a wonderful restaurant. The staff were lovely and the food amazing!! I ordered the chicken saag and it was by far the best I have ever had!!! Will definitely be coming back next time we are in Wellington. Highly recommend!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the most wonderful dinner here, the food was delicious and the service is first class. This is possibly the best curry I have had in Wellington and again, the waiters and host are great at what they do.
The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is due to the large fish which is kept in quite a small tank at the front door. It seems quite cruel and backwards. It's a shame that it's still seen as ok to keep animals on display like that - the restaurant and decor is so beautiful otherwise, but that spoiled the experience for me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I ate here last Tuesday night 24/05/2022 so I'm a little late in posting this. Both the food and the service where excellent our waiters all offers impeccable service and they food was top notch. I would definitely recommend taking it slow though and not making me and my partners mistake of over ordering as the portions are awesomely generous ? however they are very happy to wrap and bag any leftovers you may have. TLDR Excellent food and service will be back next time I'm in wellington.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A restaurant that has managed to stay traditional yet modern whilst offering personal attention is rare. Great India is a must do dinner stop when you visit Wellington.
Spice and heat in food does not overshadow the flavour.
The serving are generous and best of all, there is no rush for you to leave. Will be back. Rakesh and his team surely know how to treat guests.

Management and staff was very good but I never ever saw this type of curry at all at any restaurant.We ordered palak panner and karahi panner.Both curries we’re not cooked properly and it’s look’s like chef don’t have any experience with Indian restaurants curries.Both curries we’re tasteless .Please see the photos attached and check how’s these curries look’s like .
Highly overpriced and not worth the money.
