About Burger Wisconsin - Lower Hutt
The first Burger Wisconsin store opened its doors in the Wellington suburb of Wadestown in 1989.
It was the original NZ gourmet burger store and introduced combinations such as Avocado & Bacon and Camembert & Cranberry to the New Zealand takeaway market. We have been a proudly NZ owned and operated franchise since then, and have grown to 24 stores across the country.
While we’re NZ owned, leading the way for delicious healthy food in the burger market, we pay tribute to the history of great burgers through our name Burger Wisconsin, which reflects Wisconsin, USA’s title ‘Home of the Hamburger’.

β β β β β Absolutely terrible under this new ownership. The βgrand burgerβ is a small pattie, youβre just paying extra for a big bun. Completely over cooked and chewy, buns were stale, lettuce and avo were brown and gross. Safe to say we wonβt be back!

β β β β β Really average I feel like the burgers have gone down hill. Are there new owners? The bun was hard and stale. The meat pattie was tiny and did not go well with the grand size burger. For most of the burger all I was eating was bun it was that small. For the price you pay it was deff not worth that. Prob wonβt be going back here. Disappointed

β β β β β Got my burger delivered this evening. 20min late, which is unfortunate. The beef patty was half the size of the bun and tasted like old leather boots that had been ground into a patty.
Has been good in the past, sporadically, but this was terrible.

β β β β β Latest visit was well below past experience. We turned up on time to pick the order up and then waited an additional 20 mins. Wouldn't have mattered so much except we had hot food in the car going cold. When the delivery arrived we were short a burger so that left us scrambling at home to find tea for one of our kids. We rang and complained and got a credit but not sure we will ever use it. I suspect the franchise owner may have changed? Its a shame because the burgers are great.

β β β β β Very long wait time, very expensive burgers and sides, very lacking in taste and value.
Chicken nuggets were undercooked and very small.
Onion Rings and Garlic Mayo was delicious, well cooked and crunchy.
Curly Fries were delicious and crunchy too.
However, the Triple C burger was really basic and skimped on everything, for 18.90 the burger was less value than an average Quarter Pounder. Had one measly slice of tomato, packed with Lettuce and too much sauce.
Save your money and go with what you know. This place uses ingredients we can all buy at the supermarket anyway.

β β β β β Had to wait for 5min despite we coming 10min later than the designated pickup time.
The $7+ Chips didn't even fill to halfway, they were completely soggy, as if they've been sitting there for a long time.
The mini burger was Far too small for a price of $18.60!
Never coming back again.

β β β β β Got 2 serves of chips at $5.50ea incl. Sauce. I watched the guy serving me put some cold looking chips into packs which weren't even half full, then he put half a scoop of frozen chips into the fryer and topped my chips up with half cooked chips. Absolutely shocking. Never going here again and would not recommend. Photo shows just how low the tide was on the worst chips I've ever had.
