β β β β β I'm going to cry if this doesn't get more 5 star votes. Quite simply the best baozi I've had outside of chiba at the best price. Turn up a bit early to get the good ones. In particular the plain pork are the best. Pork with cabbage are ok too. Do not miss this shop. Oh, they don't do silly bbq pork buns that some westerners think of, (as far as I know). They only do real food.

β β β β β The vegetable bun is really good, but the pork bun didn't have enough sauce and the meat was like bad pulled pork. The shiao long bao zhi were good, but not amazing like they are in Shanghai restaurants. And the sweet buns are no way near sweet enough and have too little filling, which was a big let down. Overall I won't be going back. Northcote has so many nice Chinese restaurants / takeaway places, but this isn't one of them.

β β β β β Used to be really good Chinese buns here, particularly the kimchi pork and pork & chive ones. Unfortunately in my experience in the last year quality has hugely decreased. Last week I bought a BBQ Pork and Kimchi Pork bun, and both were pale shades of previous quality. The BBQ bun was dry and bland, and I only took one bite of the kimchi bun before discarding as there was a very strange 'off' taste to it. Unsurprisingly, later that day a very intense food poisoning began. As such I will never ever be returning to this shop - really disappointed how far it has declined.

β β β β β Great value for hot steamy authentic Chinese buns! My husband and I like going here sometimes when we don't have a big spending budget and want a nice filling meal. They have some lunch dishes on the side, but we go here mainly for the buns :). Service is fast and they have many varieties of buns - beef, vegie, chicken, Chinese kimchi buns are some of the buns we've tried and they were quite good :)!

Meat in bao quantity has decreased since I started coming. Sometimes they serve cold.
Communication can be difficult sometimes but is worth it. :)
The dan dan noodles very nice.

β β β β β Nice shop, and clean. Their xiao long bao is quite yummy. Price is reasonable, and the portions are good size too. Unfortunately, they only have small amount of tables and chairs so can take awhile to queue.
