★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Can’t fault this place. We randomly chose a spot for dinner based on its menu. Ordered the lamb rump and Moroccan lamb and were absolutely delighted. Service was friendly with a good vibe. This place doesn’t have the “must visit” reputation, but with meals like we had, probably should.

While staying in Queenstown my travel mates and I have been getting our coffees to go from Joe’s Garage to start our days and our coffees have been amazing!
The 1 star rating is due to my dine-in experience for brunch. It was moderately busy when I arrived (3 tables were still free and most tables I noticed already had food). The host who sat us and took our drink order was very friendly so everything was off to a good start.
Our server then came to take our order. I had a meal called “the Local” and asked for poached eggs. I was informed they don’t do poached eggs. This should have been a red flag for me since they offer hollandaise sauce. I instead asked for my eggs over easy.
As you can see from my photos my eggs were definitely not over easy. I told a staff member who was disinterested and offered no resolution.
After this experience I’ll be looking for my morning coffees to-go from elsewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Huge portions here. The schnitzel was delicious, the egg and bacon in my "sweetie" were a bit overcooked though. Not a big issue though. Staff were friendly and efficient

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Solid feed and great coffee. My partner and I both ordered The Local, one with spicy bratwurst and the other with the Krankys. We both enjoyed the food and coffee! I had a great flat white with coconut milk and my partner really liked his iced Americano with cream. Can't go wrong with this place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not a very good dining experience. The food was slow. I ordered a banana smoothie and it tasted of oranges and a mix of honey - no hint of banana flavour. I’m pregnant and some days cannot eat big portions without feeling sick and so ordered the kids pikelets to avoid wasting food (which I thought was acceptable considering we had a party of 10 and spent PLENTY of money) and was served them with a sarcastic comment, which I thought to be inappropriate. If I had been told I could not order off the kids menu I would’ve asked for a smaller portion of the adult sized pikelets. Besides that the food was delicious but I probably would not go back here due to the service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The flat white has lots milk foam in it. The pikelit cost $14.8 and only gave a such very small slice of banana and extremely small bacon only one slice! Compare to the picture on your menu on your website and also year 2018 we went there and ordered the same food, the size and quality are totally different!!! The lettuce was rotten in the chicken burger and part of it already got dark green stuff and they still use it! One staff with mask under his nose came over and asked if he’s okay to collect our plates, my friend said he’s not finish yet but he still took his plate! Such extreme disappointed! We will never go back again! What’s waste of money and time!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stepping into Joe's Garage is like stepping into your mate's flat. He cooks you breakfast and makes you a quick cuppa, it feels homie and has a lot of love in it. Unfortunately your mate doesn't make the best coffee and is on a budget. Portions could be more generous, he makes up for it with his amazing service. The fries were well seasoned and are a definite 5 star. See you soon Joe.
