Kate Blackett
MSC (OPTOMETRY) | BOPTOM (FIRST CLASS HONS) | TPA ENDORSED | CAA CERTIFIED EXAMINER | POLICE CERTIFIED EXAMINER
Kate graduated with a Bachelor of Optometry from the University of Auckland in 2006. She graduated with First Class Honours and a TPA (therapeutic pharmaceutical agents) endorsement.
Kate returned to study in 2016 and completed a Clinical Taught Masters in Advanced Specialty Contact Lens fitting.
Kate has a vast range of experience, working as an Optometrist in New Zealand, Australia and Canada. She has also worked at the University of Auckland supervising undergraduate Optometry students and lecturing in contact lenses.
Kate has a special interest in contact lens fitting, dry eye disease, acute eye disease and children’s vision. Her TPA Endorsement allows her to treat eye infection and inflammation.
Kate is the president of the local Taranaki Optometry Group.
