★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No compassion at all. Our had broken down 50 metres away from them and we asked them to have a look at what was wrong. We were there as soon as they opened at 8am, asking them to spare a few minutes for us. They said they will call us lunch time. Lunch time happened and nothing. We drove there and explained that we were from out of town and this has been very stressful and that we were supposed to go to Nelson. They said another 15 minutes. It took them another HOUR. They went and tried to start up our car. Another 15 minutes before they could tell us what was wrong. They said it was a serious problem based off the sound when they tried to start the engine and that it would cost us 10k and they have no time to fix it. If all it took was to try to start our car, they could have done that much earlier during the day, and we would have arranged transport of car and our own car rental earlier. We had to drove to Picton and back to Kaikoura and back to Blenheim were we stayed the night. Our day ended at 10pm. And no, we weren’t demanding. We were there in front of their shop as we had no accomodation, waiting for them to help us. Their lack of consideration on our situation had definitely caused us a ton amount of stress. I don’t think they were compassionate enough especially for outsiders like us. I hope no one would ever experience our misfortunes that day and ask for Kaikoura Auto Centre’s help as they surely would not get it despite your plea.

These girls and guys went above and beyond what most garages would. They are so helpful and got me back on the road again.
