★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most diverse private walkways with beach, bush, commercial forest and open undulating farmland to enjoy. Birdlife, seals and dolphins kept us company, along with a handsome dog called Pedro. Would certainly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed only one night (26 February 2020) at the Beach House and hiked Buntings Gulley to Beach House the next day. A wonderful experience made all the more so by our hosts, Heather and Bruce Macfarlane. We met them both upon our arrival, and talked a bit with Heather after our hike the next day. Would love to spend more time with both of them. A neighbor, Sue, made a delicious, substantial (!), and beautiful dinner for us. Breakfast was also provided, and to our surprise, Heather had a great lunch awaiting our return from Buntings Gulley: lemonade with ice, sandwiches, cake, fruit. If you get lucky, as we did, you will be accompanied on part of the Buntings Gulley track by Bruce who who provided much information on the history of the farm, track, the conservation easements, and shared his great knowledge of the plants and birds we saw along the way. Our South Island adventure was booked through Macs Adventure in the USA and to our dismay they knew virtually nothing of the details of our itinerary and as a result did not inform us that this could have been a two night, two day experience. We would have made it the full track experience if we had known. Would return if we get the chance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our group of ten friends had a wonderful two nights on the KCT. Seascapes, mountain views, native forest, birdsong and farm life charmed us. The clean, quaint accommodation was comfortable with all we needed for cooking shared dinners to share around a large dining table.
Amazing helpful hosts.
