β β β β β We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Lansdowne Farm last weekend. It was a birthday celebration and we had the place full. Everyone could not believe that this place existed so close to Christchurch
I cannot recommend this place enough for a quiet (or not so quiet as no neighbors to annoy) place to get away for a few days.
Thank you Jay

β β β β β Wow! What a spectacular place. My partner and I organized a group of 4 other couples (we took over 5 of the 6 bedrooms) and had the place to ourselves for 4 spectacular days and nights. Long walks on the beach were a highlight (so many cute seal pups!), and the amount of stars out were incredible when we relaxed in the huge tub to soothe our sore muscles after days spent hiking. 100% recommend if you and yours enjoy the great outdoors, before coming home to luxury. Thank you Heather for taking such good care of us, and say hi to the chickens for us!

β β β β β Wow! What an incredible weekend at Lansdowne Farm luxury lodge. We were amongst a family group who had the privilege of staying here in June 2018. We had sole use of the architecturally designed Common House with its great kitchen, outdoor fire BBQ and deck overlooking the farm hills and Pacific ocean. My husband and I stayed in one of the private, immaculate and comfortable cabanas. A perfect escape while still having all the modern amenities. Highly recommended.

β β β β β My sisters and I, along with their children spent the week at Lansdowne Farm during the early spring season. What a treat to find this unique and private coastal oasis. The experience was much more than we expected and was perfect for our large group. From the days spent on the beach, to the sunrise Pacific Ocean views, to indoor/outdoor common house where we shared meals & movie nights and to nights spent under the stars- this was a once in a lifetime find. We were immediately welcomed by the farmer hosts with fresh flowers and an offer to take a farm tour- nice touch. The children all enjoyed watching the cows in the pasture and there were even baby lambs! We wanted to find a place to enjoy nature, spend time together and to relax. All of the sleeping quarters and common areas were immaculate, well appointed and comfortable. My advice when you go is to not miss the fern filled hikes and to try to take a bath in the outdoor tubs. The kids also got a kick out of the outdoor showers. We will be back.

β β β β β Our family of 4 stayed here in early January. We have an almost 8-year old boy and a 10- year old girl. We were doing a lot of things on the south island and came across this place. We ended up having such an incredible time that we extended our stay by a day. Heather and Keith are incredible hosts--they both manage the working ranch and also the guests at the farm. Heather is an incredible cook and made us some amazing meals. It's a very quiet, low key place where you make your own adventure. For us, that meant hiking, feeding chickens, taking their ATV's (4-wheelers) down to the beach and riding all along the shoreline, looking at seals, having a picnic lunch, etc. On a rainy day, we played monopoly for hours with the kids. There's also a library where I just perused books for awhile and relaxed. This place was magical and the most special part of our entire 2-week NZ adventure! It's very remote so keep that in mind. Heather keeps a well-stocked pantry and can get you groceries ahead of time. The accommodations are beautiful. For the maximum amount of people (12 I think?) the bathroom would have to be shared a bit, but for our family of 4, it was so easy. We can't say enough good things about Lansdowne Farm and Heather and Keith!

β β β β β The place is nothing as described on Airbnb listing. Itβs not clean and rooms smell like grandmas attic, where one cleaned dust and mold a couple decades. The library room has many old book and is particularly dusty. The main room is full of spider web, not clean glass. Outdoor area feels a bit abandoned. Also why listing is not clear - itβs not a house. Itβs a lobby/ kitchen like a hotel, separate building is bath /. Toilets. As well as every bedroom is separated too from the main building. So if you need to use bathroom at night / kitchen, you need to walk outside (winter time is not the best, when itβs +5 degrees).
When we say this structure real life I thought we are at the wrong place because it doesnβt look like listing pictures. After seeing it all, we decided to leave the first day. Host didnβt agree to give us a refund, because as he said : he heated the house for us and this is why no refund. Even tho we left the first day. There is no love at that place. We have been to much nicer farms (Airbnb in NZ), where everything is simple and made with lots of love. This place feels like it was made with no love, only for money. We left to an amazing farm next to Kaikoura and there was wonderful.
I do not recommend this listing!

β β β β β The perfect secluded getaway spot for small groups just 2 hours from Christchurch. Accommodating up to 12 people in varied accommodation from small Cabanas, king rooms and gorgeous library room. There are shared communal bathrooms that are modern and fabulously equipped. Loads of privacy and places to relax.
The common house has a superb chefs kitchen with scullery and a large communal gathering space with views over the pacific ocean and farmland.
A great location for a small conference, intimate wedding, gathering of friends of a family reunion. This is a true hidden gem that is off the main highway and the adventure starts with the drive in through working farmland and along the conway flat coastline. Well worth the journey and wonderfully quiet and secluded for any special occasion or just a weekend away with friends.
