★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best views from here of both bays. The backdrop of the moutain range & ocean is just breath taking. Every day is different. Been here many times in various seasons, hard to chose a favorite. Can also stop & have your lunch or dinner up here, alfresco- (Rubbish bins available) Its also free, so no charge.Which is what also makes Kaikoura unique & has a nostalgic feel of what NZ used to be like many moons ago.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Breathtaking view. Almost cried for the natural beauty of Kaikoura. What a harmony of snow-capped mountains and blue sea. Surprisingly, very quiet up there. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easy drive to the lookout. We went during the day. We wanted to go during sunrise but we could not fit it in our timetable. You can see whole of Kaikoura city. Lot of parking space. When we went there was only one vehicle. Sunrise would be so surreal at this place. Good place to relax and have lunchm
