★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice location, and world famous according to the sign - maybe for the wrong reasons. Crayfish quite rubbery, scallops and mussels on wholegrain bread - it just all felt underwhelming for the price. Try somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to this famous food stall to eat crayfish. I was the first customer last Sunday. Their crayfish is tasty and wonderful. However, the steamed rice is a bit undercooked I would say as an Asian. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So So Delicious and seafood is fresh, prepared and cooked right in front of you and the best seafood grill in town. Was reccomended by a local at the local lavender farm to try it out and 100% excellent reccomendation. I tried all the seafood, all was very nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’d say it’s worth it to passed this way of Kaikoura and seen this food truck, not only they’ve got the best fresh seafood selections but it’s also affordable. The seafood chowder was great, you’ll be paying fortune for that one in a fine-dining resto. The seafoods we ordered are the best with its taste, freshness & quantity! Pika did an amazing selling the products and made us buy not just 1 but 3 meals ~ grilled prawns & red gurnard and dined in with the view of the sea! Highly recommended for seafood lovers!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For all seafood lovers this is a must do in Kaikoura. We had the seafood platter and half a crayfish. Everything was so fresh and cooked to perfection, the scallops were enormous. Very well priced for the single meals, all around $11-13. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unique roadside spot serving hot BBQ Crayfish, with salad and rice. Pick your own sized crayfish from the chill bin, around $50 for 2 people. Roadside dining. The crayfish was fine, not super flavorful (needs salt/pepper/mayo/sauce).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wouldn't say it's overrated, but definitely not 5 star worthy. Some of the food is nice but a good seafood meal really depends on the freshness of the ingredients and how simple and well it is cooked. The crayfish was definitely a bit overcooked. Do note the crayfish is already boiled before going on the grill. Hence it may not be as 'fresh' as some people thinks.
