Don't park where it says on the map. Continue on the road for several more kms & you'll end up next to it on the road on the left, its signposted. If u get to Clements Bay campsite you've passed it by 200m.

An amazing structure, most of which is still hidden under fallen trees. The so called geological explanation is that the north island was still in a state of being frozen at the time of the Rotorua eruption (aprox 1300s). The extreme temperature clash supposedly caused the stone to "snap" crack instantly, creating horizontal and vertical cracks through out the stone... However... I would argue another hypothesis: Considering its the only rock "formation " in the area, and all other stone that can be found is pumice, the face of the " main wall" has evidence of being under intense heat at one time as the surface has similar traits to that of pumice... or aged concrete! This would mean that the formation was definitely around before the rotorua eruption, meaning that the rock wasn't "thrown" by the eruption, but was already in place. As we look around further, we can find more of the same structure along the same direction as the main wall. However, this is where things get really weird! The formation of the rocks tend to take on an almost natural pile, until further exploration shows a near perfect oblong hole in rock that has far too many right angles for this to appear naturally... Also, the area is known to have strange lights flying in the sky, ( from experience) so all up, an intriguing site!

Off the hook awesome spiritual energy here! It is a very powerful portal??? This place is NOT a natural rock formation, it was made by living beings an extremely loooong time ago. This is part of ancient Lemuria and was around well before the Taupo eruption. It's 11.2 km in from the start of Clements Mill Rd and on the left hand side of the road just back slightly. Absolutely love this place!

Extraordinary wall! the quiet drive through the forest was peaceful. Native Forest is beautiful and breath taking, so if you do visit here, be respectful and drive slowly and if you go for a wander, only leave your footsteps :)

Pretty cool place, very hard to find but if you go to Clements Clearing Camp Site and head back about 200-300m, it's not sign posted but it is visable from the gravel road. Not sure if man made or Natural but I can't say I know of any rocks that crack naturally straight in a block style.

Found this place entirely interesting. The Google maps app thinks the road ends prematurely but if you continue on the same road you will eventually find this "natual" rock formation. I had my doubts before visiting but apon viewing and feeling the almost concrete like stone I am definetly in two minds about this place. Very out of the way but a nice drive and it's intruiging to have such landmarks in NZ available for the public to visit. Either way a very cool place to visit!

A mystical place. Official story says it is a natural formation but it looks like a handmade. There are no propper road signs that NZ Department of Conservation usualy provides for tourism attractions. It seems that somebody doesn't want people to visit this place and raise questions. Don't park where Google Map advises. You need to drive about 10 km further. The wall is on the left hand side. I don't recommend to go there during rainy weather.
