At Kaitieke School we strive to be betterthan average.
We are a small rural school located in the central King Country, 35kms from Taumarunui. We have 16 fabulous students, who range in age from 5 to 12.
Kaitieke is mainly a farming community, close to The Retaruke River and The Whanganui River. We are only a short drive from the Tongariro National Park, and the ski fields of Mount Ruapehu.
At Kaitieke School we are very proud of our localised curriculmn that targets individual learners' needs. Our inquiries drive our literacy and numeracy, often from a scientific approach.
Thanks to our community support we have two school buses that enable us to travel from home, school, beach to mountain and everything in between.
