Amazing place with very welcoming hosts, set in a jaw-dropping location in front of the three main volcanoes of the Tongariro massif. Very peaceful. Love it so much I can't wait to go back! Kudos to Tim and Ewan for building such an incredible place and providing such a great service to their customers!

Beautiful property. Stayed at The Hut for 2 nights in June. The owners started a fire for us the first night and stopped by to welcome us. the bush bath didn't work out, but the cabin was very comfortable, and we were able to do laundry and have a couple self-catered meals.

The place is simply gorgeous. It is a wonderful retreat, with splendid views on the mountains. The bush bath is a must do. And the hosts are the kindest people ever. I would highly recommend this to absolutely every one who's after an out of the ordinary experience.

We stayed in The Hut last winter and had a wonderful time. Great host and cozy place a short drive from the ski fields. Loved having the wood fireplace. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next season. Fantastic retreat!

The Hut. Lovely little place to get away for a few days. Tim's a nice guy and is very helpful if any extras are needed. The view towards to mountains is wonderful. The place is very warm in the evening and the fire gets the place cosy once the sun has faded or before is rises. Make sure you take everything you need as the shops are quite someway, but the drive to them is stunning so its a win win. Enjoy the deck and the views with a glass of wine. Memorable.

We stayed in the Tree House at the Wood Pigeon Lodge, and I have to say it's definitely the place to escape into nature, disconnect from your phones and, lastly, light the fire and immerse yourself in peace and tranquility. Tim was incredibly professional and helpful with arranging the booking, payment and getting us settled into the lodge. The view was spectacular and the sounds of nature were so nice, with the faint hum of a train in the distance. When we arrived late afternoon, it was roughly 14 degrees - we knew that being in this area it was going to get cold at night, however I was very impressed with how warm the tree house is! It is well insulated and when we first stepped into the tree house I didn't expect it to be so warm. Extra blankets are provided if needed (we didn't) and the fireplace does plenty well keeping the place warm. My partner and I used the WPL Tree House as our base for going out to do rafting in Turangi, quad biking in National Park, spending the day in Taupo and dining out in Ohakune. That said, this is also a spectacular place for creatives to spend some time in solitude: bring the guitar, writing materials etc and start creating. A great effort is put into minimising their carbon footprint - this is brilliant eco-friendly, natural accommodation and I would love to return again.
