β β β β β SHAME ON THE MANAGERS HERE who delighted in victimising a tramper to the extent of causing him to go hungry by refusing his double vaxed friend to purchase him food to take away.
And openly GLOAT when telling him he could not get on the boat they had booked.
What kind of people delight in such mean behaviour.????????
TRUELY DISGUSTING??????

β β β β β Had the most incredible birthday weekend stay at Blue Duck Station and Chefs Table. The station owner, Dan, was very welcoming, friendly and chatty and his other staff like Mel and Matthew were so helpful and accommodating. Such a beautiful location.
We did the All Terrain Vehicle 2hr trip through the station and up to The Chef's Table, which literally did feel like you were on top of the world with 360 degree magnificent views over national parks and mountains. Our wooden luxury cabin was gorgeous and the 10 course degustation meal with matching wines was unbelievable. Most of the food is taken from the farm and the meal creations were amazing. Jack is the incredible young chef and his partner, Beth, is the manager and host. They were both so lovely, welcoming and passionate about NZ, local food and wines. The manuka honey from the station is also divine. Unforgettable experience!

β β β β β Dropping yourself into the middle of nowhere never felt this good! I came as part of the Stray itinerary and was happy to stay for 2 nights.
Besides taking a swim in the Retaruke River, you can hike to the Blue Duck Waterfall (about 1,5-2 hours each way). I absolutely loved this place as well as the hike leading towards it.
This place brings a lot of calmth which was much needed after several hikes the previous days. Thanks for having us!

β β β β β I have lived the worst woofing experience ever in this place : exploited to do housekeeping job while being offered unthinkable living conditions. We were 5 persons sleeping in a horridly dirty room, the walls were falling down, and our so-called βinclusive foodβ was served in dishes detained above trash cans smelling horribly and conveying flies. When I heard some of the co-woofers had spent money to have to right to work here and to do the job of a housekeeper while the place was doing money thanks to there overpriced loggias I decided to leave immediately.
I would avoid this place at all costs, both as a woofer or as a tourist.

β β β β β Great place to get away from everything and no phone. Mel looked after us fantastically and Graeme the guide was great and went out of his way so we had a great time.

β β β β β Most amazing location to go to. Staff couldn't do enough for us. A huge range of bird life and access to high country views for the misty sunrise was stunning.

β β β β β Spent a day hanging out at the cafΓ©, while waiting for my Whanganui River journey to depart. Great service by the team, with a excellent initiative to conjure up some vegan options. I booked to have dinner there too and the chef paid extra consideration to my meal offerings. Location is one of those must-see NZ places, too. Will go back, for sure!
