★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karapiro Dam lookout is Just 10km away from Cambridge.. Wonderful stop over for family/friends if you are travelling from Auckland to taupo. Nice scenic lookout at dam from top and nearby villages.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely little spot in Karapiro with established oak trees giving plenty of shade in summer. The views down to the lake are awesome and if you are lucky there may be a regatta going and you can see the crews rowing. Maungatautari can be seen in the distance. Public toilets available at the car park.
