★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little walk in to the kiwi burn hut, 6k, sign says 1.5 hours, allow longer if you are walking with first time scouts.
Car park a good size for the hut.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice spot for a swim in the river or a walk. Dog friendly (on lead) is nice as not many places so beautiful and allowing dogs around here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Car park itself is great. However you literally walk 2/3 more than you need to to the Kiwi Burn hut from there. It's good if you want a longer walk, but something useful to know.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The swingbridge at Kiwi Burn Car Park saves you getting your feet wet (or being swept away in a flood) in the ford about 1km downstream. There's also a standard DoC long drop toilet nearby.
On the other side of the river you enter the forest and join South Mavora Walking Track, part of the Te Araroa.
