However, there is a phlebotomist who is exceptionally unfriendly and gives you a lecture on hydration and speaks to you like you are a child, instead of an educated highly qualified academic. I have refused to have this person attend me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Previous visit was good and had a very friendly staff member but this time I went in another lady asked me if I was pregnant (I’m not), for no reason at all. We wernt having any conversation, it was silence then she asked me that looking at my stomach area which happened to be completely hidden by a dress. It had nothing to do with the blood tests I was having done but I assumed this is why she asked and I had missed something. Then I said no and she got all embarrassed and said it must have been my dress??? So Proving she was asking for no reason, whoever is in charge you need to talk to your staff and tell them it’s not ok to ask someone that, it’s hurtful and completely unnecessary, she completely ruined my day. I won’t be back again. I have had so many blood tests in the past all over Auckland and have NEVER been asked this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very lucky to have this service on the coast - however if your visit is tarnished by a staff member who's tone had so much hatred in her voice it was so overwhelming that I ended up in tears. - it was a paid blood test and the other 2 staff were really nice at the counter & one of them helped my lady as she seemed to have difficultly processing it - surely if you are new or unfamiliar with a process you are better to tell the patient - but don't ever show anger to them - it was a Friday morning and no other customers - a real shame

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My experience at labtests whangaparaoa was delightful. I am usually quite nervous with needles, even getting a blood test. The lady helping me was a trainee but by far the best experience i've had. She was so friendly and made me feel at ease. Got the needle in correctly the first time and no bruising. Fantastic!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Other than wait times being somewhat longer than other days and times (refer to notes at reception desk) the lab assistants are always kind and have clear communication skills as well as being skilled at their profession. Never felt unease or uncomfortable there, not even once.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I haven't been to this one for a couple of years due to being abused by one awful person for being dehydrated and even for wearing my watch on my right arm. Two visits this week and what a change! Warm, welcoming service and genuine with it. Left feeling appreciated. I'll be back!
