★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Camped here for a few nights in my tent and was mostly pleasant other campers and motorhomes there, just a bit of noise one night about midnight. Fishing was good, plenty of fish but plenty of weed also! I will return!

Driving further inland you’ll arrive at Aniwhenua Falls. The access to it is through a gate that closed 3:30pm everyday.

The lake is a bit dirty for swimming. Nearby boat ramp for launching a boat.
Toilets on site, rubbish bins, and a kids playground.
Gas and local store 10min drive.
Hunting, fishing, walking options all around, and an hours drive to rotorua or whakatane.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful free camping ground with toilets, solar showers, dishwashing sinks, rubbish bins and great children's playground. A large area to choose from for camping, but I would image it gets very busy at peak times. Kayaking on the lake, boating and trout fishing. A lot of lake weed, but fun to negotiate in the kayak?
