★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I loved it myself, I'm a hunter and fresh to the area so when I was there the sandflies were a problem for me, it really needed to be a little colder for my liking.
But overall a beautiful place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice lake. The problem is, 20km of unsealed road, park the car, there is even a toilet... But once taken your nice pic and had a walk around, there is really not much more here...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lake Hauroko is the deepest lake in NZ. You drive in over 20km of unsealed road to a carpark in beech forest, on the edge of the lake. Picturesque views of the ranges surrounding the lake and bushwalks along the shores. Public toilet facility.
