★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quaint little campground offering FREE winter camping for non contained and self contained vehicles! Great place to spend the evening while fishing the canals or heading up to the ski field. Beware though, tons of wild rabbits who may lure you in with their cuteness

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most beautiful location. Had it all to myself! Free in the off season for all campers. There is a perfectly fine long drop nearby but the water was switched off so need make sure you bring your own. Not great for tents, mostly uneven. Loved it here anyway, views and the peace was amazing!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely location but we actually missed the proper camp at Lake Middleton by turning right instead of left.
Not much flat area for camping and toilets are not cleaned - just toilet paper maintained - but views of Lake Ohau magic.
Lake Middleton is an excellent camp with flush toilets and a dump station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very, very windy. Some sheltered spots. Good flushing toilets. The wind was strong but not bitterly cold. No sandflies in this wind. Other than that nice views and spot to camp overnight. Plenty of sheltered spots.
