Just excellent, excellent fish and chips - the fish of the day was gemfish, and I don't think I've ever had fish this fresh for years. Oh and such friendly, welcome staff too! No photos because we devoured it pretty instantly - do y'all have to take my word for it ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Out of the way but glad we found this fish and chip shop if was a pleasant surprise
We got 3 nice sized fish just right amount of chips and great salad. By far the best in the mount and Tauranga area. also not fatty.
Good on you guys.

Generous portions of snapper, chips crisp and crunchy. You can't ask for anymore than that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst fish and chips I have ever tasted. How this shop has been rated 4.6 on Google review I will never know. Fish were bits of fish scraps. Batter undercooked and chips still firm and uncooked. It was terrible, will never return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WOW!! We jumped on TripAdvisor for best fish and chips in Tauranga and they weren't wrong. Mags had a great casual atmosphere, fast service, fresh produce and good prices. The food was sooo good and we eat alot of fish and chips. We just loved it, it felt like home.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly staff fish and chips ok but the $7.50 paua fritter was horrible, was like thick soggy bread with teaspoon of paua in whole fritter, uneatible chucked in bin , better fish and chips around ,wouldn't go back
