★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Martabak I’ve tasted here in Auckland for the last few decades! Wife loves their soto Makassar so that a bonus. Beef ribs soup was perfect and their Ikan Bakar is sumptuous.
Highly recommend to preorder to avoid long waits.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ New Indonesian restaurant in the area. Pretty good dish. It seems their beef ribs and martabak were quite famous. Personally, I expected more spices and flavors from the food. However, it was still pretty good. Their mie goreng was good too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My first time trying Indonesian in NZ. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I visited Makassar on a Fri night right before closing and yet the owner/manager was super nice. Not that I would hold it against anyone to be super tired before closing time :). Opted for grilled chicken smothered in a satay kinda sauce and rice with salad after asking for recommendations. Super impressed with the flavor and their small pouch of spicy sauce was bomb. Highly recommend. Also ordered a dessert-ish preparation made of a pandan leaf pancake with dessicated coconut. They were left with just 2 portions (it's 3 per order) so they cooked one more just for me. Totally in love with it (Dadar something)...it's similar to something prepared back home in India yet very SE Asian. Overall, a must visit for their food and hospitality. Cheers guys.
PS: Mine was a takeaway. Remember to remove the spicy sauce pouch before microwaving ?. I know someone who didn't lol.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Popped by to get takeaways on a Friday night. Friendly service. The food menu photos are on the walls so it helps to know what you're ordering. I got the chicken sweet soy sauce with rice which was super tasty. The dessert I got was like a green pancake wrapped around sugar - was super tasty too :) Will definitely return to try other things on the menu!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyed the nasi kuning and chicken noodles.. beef murtabak was not too bad too. Unfortunately we found the satay a bit hard to eat (keras) and the peanut sauce was more salty than expected. Fantastic service though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yummy place to get Indonesia cuisine. They serve the delicacies from Makassar which is from Sulawesi Island ( Eastern part of Indonesia, south of the Philippines).
In the pics is Nasi Goreng.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My family and I had dinner @ Makassar Corner the other night and overall the food and service was excellent!!
The business is a family run restaurant, making authentic Indonesian HALAL cuisine.
We made reservations prior to coming and tried the following:
Martabak - Beef, Martabak - Chicken, Chicken Skewers, Chicken fried noodle, Chicken fried rice & Indonesian desserts, drinks and ginger tea.
The food was delicious, perfect quantity for a family of 4 and economical! (Approx. $20 per head)
My personal favorites were Martabak - Beef, Chicken fried noodle & the ginger tea.
I will definitely go back and try some of their other dishes.
