★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place is called Ihumatao or Ishi for short located near the airport. Wai o hua are the local iwi as well as others. It is a special place for the locals as it represents the last Bastion of Home for them. The whare nui or special home is called Tamaki makaurau. Inside is ample space for tangi, conferences, weddings, and meetings of all kinds. The toilet facilities inside are of a high quality. The whare kai or restaurant is of a high standard to fulfill the needs of the event. There is a standard fee per night and a bond to ensure the marae retains it quality status. There is rear, roadside and additional parking on an adjacent field. If you care for the local area the locals will care for you. E nga mokopuna o Wai o hua nga mihi ra.
