★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I attended a tangi there some years ago. Awesome everything the way guests were welcomed onto the Te Puea Marae, hospitality and kai was beyond amazing. First time on a marae ever it was a great experience to be a part of for us who are not tagata whenua. Great to learn and experience a different culture.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super friendly and full of history. I had been welcomed on as a guest from my partners work shop (a training function from youth line) we were given a lovely meal and told some of the history. Many pictures and stories to be told there. A real part of New Zealand history and culture.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Make sure to visit a Maori Marae when visiting or if you live in New Zealand. Kio Ora is 'hello' in Maori. Greetings is done by touching nose as shown my picture.
