★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An interesting use of vacant land in Invercargills 'downtown' area. Used to be a bank there making up the fourth bank on what was often referred to as bank corner. There is a traffic roundabout in the middle of the intersection there with the troopers memorial in the center of it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Abstract Sculpture Wall:
After first arriving in Southland about 1100 AD the Maori had developed a sophisticated culture. The mainly Irish/Scottish settlers began to arrive in the mid-1800s. This wall symbolises the merging of these cultures in Southland.
Although Concrete Slab is not your typical Sculpture material, it does serve another purpose, which is blocking the howling Sou'wester that rips through this area at times.
Although I do like the the overall sculpture wall, I do find the "Thomas The Tank Engine" face disturbing and out of place.
