About MariLuca Ristoro
Down a small alleyway off Mulgrave Street hidden behind vine covered walls is a restaurant steeped in culinary history. It’s worth the wander up to the Parliament end of town just a stone’s throw from St. Paul’s Catheral, away from the hustle and bustle the trendy part of Wellington to be greeted with authentic smiles from the team at MariLuca. It won’t be long until you will find yourself at home here.
The site in Mulgrave St, previously housed the immensely popular Maria Pia’s Trattoria (2002-2011), a landmark on the Wellington dining scene.
In 2011 MariLuca was named as a contraction of former owner and hospitality legend, Giuseppe Malaponti’s two children’s names Marina and Gianluca.
The owners Jeoffrey and Yasmin Bisa decided to keep the name of the restaurant when they took over in January 2016. Keeping with the name, the team aspire to deliver the same warm and friendly service and amazing food that will surely make you feel at home.

Was wished a happy birthday by all of the staff and they put a candle in my tiramisu which was a lovely suprise... thank you! Will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't go if you are a vegetarian! They don't have pizzas. There are very few options. We've been charged for what we did not eat and it was not clear that there is smoked meat in the dish we ordered. Unfair, not nice the day before Christmas and not a commercial behaviour. We said we did not eat meat and brought us bad the plate we said we did not want. Rude and not respectful! I brought friends there coz I loved the atmosphere the last time I went and it was a fancy restaurant. And very expensive too. Food was not bad but sadly not a nice experience yesterday so none of us will come back! You expect some nice gesture from such an expensive restaurant. Disappointed.

Maybe we had very high expectations from all the positive reviews and the 5 stars…
My Lamb Rump was cooked to perfection; so tender and juicy, but, like what Manu Feildel says … where is the sauce?
Overall, I believe 4 star is a fair score…
