Couldn't be happier staying with Gillian and Graham. Amazing food & fresh fruit. Incredible tales of their boating days We even helped them catch one of their sheep.

Graham and Gillian are the perfect hosts. Knowledgeable, friendly with amazing food and stories. A must-visit on the queen Charlotte track. Beautiful cabins in the orchard, camp sites, sheep, ducks and chooks. Don't miss it if you're tramping in the sounds.

We used a bunk room, comfortable enough beds, friendly hosts, and we realise their circumstances have changed with covid, but it wasn't the cleanest, the meal was really basic, and padded up with heaps of mashed potatoes

Filthy rundown place with rubbish everywhere. Cant believe that this place can exist in a conservation area. Every room was a disapointment, and when approached with our concerns, the host was not only rude and refused any sort of refund, but also threatened us.

Very friendly welcome by the owners. Good dinner and breakfast and a very comfortable hut for the night. All perfect

Really enjoyed our one night stay at Miners Camp over Christmas/NY while walking Queen Charlotte track. We camped amongst the kiwifruit vines and fruit trees. The campers shelter/kitchen was good although we chose to have our dinner at the home of the owners. Both owners were lovely, the meal we had was perfect after a long day of hiking (smoked pork with pickled fennel, potatoes, and fresh salad from garden). Also had poached eggs and bacon for breakfast. We had the meal in their home which had a lovely cosy feel to it. Loved the fejoa/lemon/coconut cake. Both hosts were lovely & the doc toilet on site was the cleanest of our entire hike! Thanks Miner Camp team :)

We camped at Miners Camp in December 2020 and it was awesome. Great tent sites and our bags were collected from the jetty and were waiting for us after the walk from Ship Cove. Good facilities and the friendliest owners. We booked dinner (roast dinner with a choice of cake for dessert), breakfast (choice of continental or bacon, eggs and toast) and a packed lunch and all were homemade and delicious. We ate at the owners house with other campers and had a great time chatting. These people are so nice. If fancy is what you’re after, you might want to look at one of the resorts but we loved our stay and highly recommend Miners Camp!

I booked a night for our Queen Charlotte Track at Easter weekend 8 months ago, only to discover (because the website is down) 6 weeks out that they've closed. No communication, not sure how I'm supposed to get my deposit back either. And incredibly difficult to find an alternative at this late stage. Awful experience.
