★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This gas station is very conveniently located on the way out of Queenstown if you need to top off on the way out of town. The convenience store is large and clean and well stocked.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pump kept shutting off when filling on full and it took me about 10 minutes to get a gap in traffic to turn right towards the airport when leaving. Only stop here if you are planning to go into Queenstown.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid or minimise filling up in Frankton/Queenstown, as prices are extortionate - about 15% higher than Dunedin and 17% higher than Christchurch, and even 11-13% higher than Te Anau and Wanaka when we were there (Jan/Feb-2020).
It appears collusion can't be ruled out as all 5x Frankton area petrol stations - including the Pak N Save - charged the exact same price - well above that charged in adjacent towns an hour away (which didn't all charge the same either). This suggests it is not transport cost but likely exploitation of tourists (unless the price cycle peak coincided with our time in Queenstown). NZCC should investigate this apparently collusive behaviour. Do yourself a favour and fill up in Alexandra, Wanaka or Te Anau (where stations actually compete).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Travelers be aware. First time getting petrol in the country. Want to give the staff member a benefit of the doubt, but just for anyone’s sake, make sure you get the right change.
The guy tried to short change me while he was noticing my US passport. My total came out to $70.50 so I gave the cashier $80.50, who then gave me $0.50 back. When I gave him a frowned look, he immediately apologized and gave me the correct change. Not 100% sure if it was deliberate, but hopefully no one gets ripped off while not paying attention!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped here after driving 3 hours for a short bathroom stop. The Indian man had a go at me for using the bathroom without being a customer. We had just stopped previously at a Mobil to fuel up so did not think this would be an issue and also never had an issue with using the bathroom at a petrol station across the whole of NZ when traveling.
The worst, most unfriendly and rude customer service I have experienced at a petrol station. Save yourself the attitude and ruining your mood by avoiding this fuel station - there’s a better one for a lower cost in Twizel!!
