We ended up buying our Nissan Caravan in December 2018 at Motoka after a very long search. We had seen so many campervans before, but none of the sellers were trustworthy. Until we met Thomas: he's a very honest guy! He also gave us very good advice on how to convert the Caravan into a self-contained campervan.
Before purchasing we got an independent inspection with the AA which was absolutely no issue for Motoka.
Highly recommend Motoka: friendly, honest and good service!

We purchased a Vanette from Motoka in September 2018 and converted it to a camper. We drove it all over the North and South without any issues.
Before purchasing, we got an independent inspection at Pit Stop which identified some minor issues (some rust under the passenger seat, ware on the spare tire). Motoka both had no concern with the inspection (some places suggest it is not needed - it is), and fixed the issues quickly and without protest.
They accepted our payment through TransferWise which saved us the trouble of pulling out thousands in cash or opening an NZ bank account.
We looked at vans all over Auckland and were so happy to have found this place. There are a lot of shady characters trying to get that sweet van money - but this placed proved to be upstanding.

We were quiet fussy about what we were looking for and we could not have asked for better service and attention in fulfilling our expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend Motoka and Thomas especially.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My car breakdown 3 times in the last 2 weeks, I had to tow it to 2 different workshops until they found an electrical problem + the fuel pump had to be replaced, 700$+ on repairs for a 'fresh import'.
I contact Tom and the response from him was that I'm in ''my own'', ok I am and you have a review now warning others about the nightmare I live.
Things can happen but the response was far unprofessional and I had to spend money on a car which broke in the first 1500km, I purchased this for 14,000$.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reliable service and great vehicle! My partner and I purchased a van from Motoka in November 2019, which we converted into a campervan to travel around New Zealand. Motoka provided a 6-month warranty on the vehicle that we bought, and told us we could bring it back to him to be repaired if there was any major mechanical issues within 6 months of purchase. The van ran perfectly for three months, but during a routine service we found we had to get the radiator replaced. We were on the South Island, and it would have been very hard to drive the van back up to Motoka's shop on the North. We called Thomas to explain our circumstances, and he sourced us a replacement part within minutes and had it shipped immediately to the auto shop we were using in the South. He also covered the cost of the replacement part and fully honored the 6-month warranty that was promised. Fantastic service and very pleased with the ease and reliability provided by Motoka!

yeah after me chasing it up, it’d be nice to be kept up to date on what’s happening. if i had known it would take over a week i would’ve kept looking around. yeah you’re not the mechanic but i’m sure there are other mechanics around
