★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've ridden the Dunes Trail section only, a 10 klm section that follows the coast eastwards from Opotkiki. The track is gravel with some wooden boardwalk sections and a very easy ride gently undulating through the dunes. Buy an icecream from the store at the eastern end through the camp ground. Very generous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In short: We tried to rent 2 mountainbikes to do the Pakihi Trail but it was not possible for the Motu Trails Team to assemble 2 mountainbikes that are safe to ride so they cancelled our trip without any excuse after 1h of fixing 4 bikes. Just don´t try to rent a bike there, they do not bother about maintenance at all, easy to tell.
All the bikes had issues, like not working gear shifting, holes in the tires (and they charge you for using their tubes if you have a flat on the trail, haha), brakes not working, not even to mention the non functioning suspension fork. If we wouldn´t have asked for fixing the problems when we arrived they would have sent us with really unsafe equipment on the trail, unbelievable. They had plenty of time because we booked via phone days in advance. In the end they wheren´t even sorry about the day and the money we´ve lost due to their incompetence, the even blamed us for "loosing fate in their equipment", ridiculous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Motu Trails is a fantastic operator, well maintained vans and purpose built trailer. We made a last minute booking and Motu trails were happy to accommodate us. We had a fantastic time and Johns knowledge of the trails was really helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly place very family orientated, and i love how they take care of the community ❤ and the vibe is soo rich in togetherness, very tidy and a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to all my friends ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good lady at the reception some friendly people, but there were some local family who were drunk or on drugs at kitchen been rude tht we had to leave the same night becase we were scared if they do something, smoking inside kitchen, going through our fridge. Highly recomend not to stay alone if its a girl, we had bad experience do not recomend it
