★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best kept camp grounds in a perfect location. Between the surf beach and pilot bay, with the beautiful Mt at your feet.
Enjoy a stunning walk around tge base of the mountain, taking in sea views with the occasional cruise ship ? skimming past the mountain making a spectacular scene. Or venture up the Mt for breath taking views (moderate effort required).
Then settle down for an evening in the hot pools adjacent to camp ground (discounted for campers).
Did i mention the cafes, shops and bars! ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nothing on the information sheet to say you can't use a weber barbecue, we just had the rudest staff member tell us that we can't use it which is fine except for how badly we were treated. He lied and said the fire brigade had been called. Very unacceptable!

of Best campsite in North island to be for short break.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Experience spoilt by cleaners coming at 5:30am to clean toilets both mornings - car doors closing, talking on mobile phone beside our camper and then the vacuum cleaner going. So much for the camps rule of “Complete quietness between the hours of 10pm and 7am”!
Everything else was fabulous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really enjoyed our stay at Mount Camp ground. Upgraded shower heads were great. Everything nice and clean. Stayed in Pilot Bay side...really nice. We will be back ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 10/10 location. The stationary cabins you can hire aren’t the best, no running water. The facilities are clean and abundant. The view is fantastic and the park sits just at the bottom of the mount!
