★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Divinity dished up... each mouthful is worth savouring. Any selection from the menu well not disappoint, there is passion behind the creation.
The surrounds do not detract from the plate; subtle simplicity allowing for a pleasing ambiance.
Yes, some of the wait staff could still use some additional training but none were unpleasant.
Mildly frustrating is the lack of detail on the menu - providing only the main ingredients without the method. However, an appreciation for this grows once you place some trust in the creator. Not easy on a first visit, but try to roll with it.
Easy decision to return and thankful Mr Morris has arrived to add to the Auckland landscape.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went for the Sunday Long Lunch. It was amazing. It was a set menu that is different to their regular menu because on Sunday the chef's try new things so the menu is a mix of favorites and experimental pieces. It was 4 courses long with 6 different dishes. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To accompany a very exciting and fresh menu, the service and actual food itself was fantastic. Staff were very very accommodating, went above and beyond. Super fun and friendly and yet satisfyingly professional. Food came out a little slow, but it was a busy night and the pacing didn’t impact the experience overall. Definitely recommend for an intimate special occasion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We planned to come here almost a year ago when they were voted Viva's top restaurant for 2022 but then lockdown happened and we only now just made it in. Boy are we glad we did. Service was second to none, music was on point and the food was divine. Special shout out to the chicken skin with parfait which my husband and I haven't been able to stop thinking about since we left, wishing we'd ordered more! Highly recommend Mr Morris for your next fine dining experience ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would dine again, the service was spectacular. Great recommendations on the wine. Food was on par as well. Get amongst the snacks. They're heavy on the salt with anything on the char grill. Octopus was very generous, and scotch was rich, suggest a lighter wine to pair with the steak. Ask to seat at the kitchen counter for some great people watching
